why we go to the Other park

So just wanted to share a shot of the neighborhood park, so you understand why we always pay to take the kids to Other parks...this park looks like an AmeriCorps project waiting to happen...another reason we are looking for a new house-location for House II. The park below even has bumper cars and the ever-popular, huge slides. Jen even wiped out going down this weekend and has the scabs to show for it...boy did the kids think that was funny when she landed on her rear end!

Wow that was embarassing, I was in such a hurry to send my message that I didn't read it first and made all kinds of errors. Where is spell check when I need it?

I never thought about the comparision with the Long Creek school playground...that does bring back some memories. I remember playing "baseball golf"...a home spun game consisting of ground squirrel holes, baseballs, and a bat. Great fun if you have never played it. The kids do survive in all environments...one of the last times we went we took interesting pieces of trash threw it in a mud hole and tried to hit it with rocks and dirt clods from a nearby mound of dirt. Of course this soon escalated into throwing dirt clods and rocks in all directions (and at each other). I had to yell at them...but I can´t blame them - I would have been doing the same thing at their age...thank goodness they don´t have access to fire and gasoline!!! :)

I forgot all about baseball golf. Looking back on it now it seems a little pathetic but it sure wasn't at the time. It is amazing what can be entertaining with a little imagination which I think is why I am harder to entertain the older I get. The more stuff I get that is supposed to entertain me the less it does. I think I am about ready to downsize :) Be safe and have fun.
