A Week of¨"First´s"

Since we didn´t make it to the summit of Mount Tunari, we decided to make a new "first" by jumping into an alpine lake at...15,280 feet!!! The guy on the right (Rick) is from Idaho and was the only one crazy enough to jump in with us. Carl (the father of Jennifer...director of Casa de Amor) confirmed that we were crazy and said that he would have to censor any future volunteers from the Pacific Northwest...they are from Texas. The water wasn´t actually that bad...Lake Ingalls in WA is colder.

This is the first time we have ever encountered a "llama slaughter" road block. We could have driven further up the hill, but a group of campesinos were in the middle of it butchering 4-5 llamas, thus we parked the bus (can see it in the background) and started our hike from there.

That's right, this is not any old baby....this is proof of my first ever diaper change!! I have somehow avoided this for the past 34 years (maybe because I am the youngest of six), but decided that I had better practice before I have to change my own! - Andrew

Andrew,
you need to clarify ''own", ..your diaper or your child's diaper. Big time difference there! Great pictures, and great diaper change, you have reason to be proud.:)

Yes, please do clarify the "own diaper" statement, we're all curious.

My own diaper...meaning my diaper not some hypothetical future baby of ours! Although, unless dad gets his wish of dying while hiking in the mountains, I might have to change his before my own. :)

Diapers are the best! Just ask Ian about his changing experiences! We get new treasures all the time as Shelby gets introduced to new solid foods every four days! Ian's favorite is definitely the result of PEAS! HA! They aren't that bad! Buck up! Love, Megan

Don't worry Andrew. I had never changed a diaper in my life before Naomi was born. I changed my first one the day after she was born. After getting several on funny I got the hang of it quickly :).
