We visited Colca Canyon after Arequipa on a 2 day tour and then we stayed for an extra night so Andrew could hike down into the canyon overnight while I stayed up on the rim as the only guest in a sketchy hostel, watching scary movies and eating pizza with the hostel owner?! I slept with my door locked, but it was fine. I just didn't feel ready to descend over 2,000 ft. after ACL reconstruction 8 months ago! Andrew had a great time with his group and even had a funny story to tell about an egotistical, sick Spaniard who had to be hauled up the canyon on a donkey's back!! Ok, so Andrew didn´t buy this hat, but man was it funny and SO HUGE! It was pure alpaca and it felt like you had a small animal on your head.

Pretty goofy looking hat, Andrew! What an adventure you are having. It's wonderful to watch it unfold via blog! Safe and happy travels to you!
You look like a Ruskie Andrew! Is that what they call Russians? It looks like great fun. Keep the pictures coming.
I really like the hat, Andrew. It didn't scratch you or anything, right? Enjoy machu pichu. Take pictures and then you and Mari can compare. talk to you soon. Liked the sand duning buggy buggy ride.
