Here we are at Machu Pichu...yes, indeed, it does look like the classic postcard you see, but it is amazing and dramatic to see in person. We spent the whole day walking/hiking the ruins from 8-5pm (we even hiked to the top of Huayna Pichu--the big mountain behind us--Jen had a couple of low moments, and she will tell you that she walked further than Andrew that day). We arrived in the Sacred Valley on Monday and came back to Cusco today, Wednesday. It is hard to describe how incredible the landscape is here with mountains that shoot up thousands of feet out of a river valley--it is easy to see why the Incas considered it "sacred." Tomorrow we leave on a bus for Puno, Peru, on Lake Titicaca near the border of Bolivia. We hope to be in Cochabamba by Feb. 18, Andrew's birthday! As many of you will notice, his birthday falls on President's Day...and yes, Sheila, Irene and Kim, he is very happy about this!P.S. We thank you for your many comments. Any of our responses will be found under the post where your comment appears.

What a great picture! mom
I AM SO JEALOUS!!! That truly is a postcard picture. What a cool thing to do. I see other people in the background, did you guys take a tour bus up and then walk around? That's not as cool as when I go and hike up over 5 days (not really sure when that will be BUT it'll be awesome).
We've got most of the townhouse settled into as of tonight. I went around with a level today and straightened all of the pictures we hung on the wall; and yes the tassel's are all straight on the red rug. =)
That is amazing! Love to watch your travels on line! The kids all say "Hi" except for Emily who says.."where is Jen's Andrew? I was thinking...blah blah blah" !
we are really struggling w/this blog stuff. won't take our comments. art
Hmmmmm...OK took Art's comment of distress...why not my comments of cheerful legnth? Is brief the key? I will attempt to post brief.
Gadzooks! This is like circling around a hungry...what? hippo. Will he let me pass? dumb Internet. We will work out way to make your possessions (just in case we do spend time wandering, on assignment, around the Navajo Nation) both safe and accessible. How to guarentee this is as yet not certain but we will so guarentee. I say this in case you, in your travels, have had time to be surprised that we might be going to Arizona. So were we. (: Surprised that is. Happt B. Day Andrew. Hugs for Jen.
