a little friend in our shower

This little friend lost his life on the second day in our house...we quickly learned that Cochabamba has scorpions, as well as mosquitos.

OK, you know how disgusting this is!!! I read on the internet that in Bolivia they are no more harmful than a bee or wasp. Oh dear! Also, they like to hide in beds and clothing!!!!!!!! Shake your clothes before dressing!! mom

Arn't mom's great! Didn't know they get that high! Has the altitude affected you? When we moved from 600'to 3000' I thought I would never wake up - sleepy all the time. Cheers!! ART

WOW!! That's way worse than the dumb "hook-monsters" (earwigs in Rachel's language) that we used to get in our showers back in Eburg. Hope you guys are having fun.

The altitude has not been bad...but we have been at this altitude or higher for almost three weeks and thus are somewhat adjusted to it. Every once in awhile I forget to breath and I remember the altitude...I know this sounds funny, but it is really true. There are times when you are walking and breathing as you would at a lower elevation and suddenly you realize that you do not have any oxygen. We have not done much excercise other than walking though. There is a 15,300 ft. mountain just outside of town that I want to hike up soon...I will let you know how that goes.

I like how instead of freaking out and immediately flinging this bug in the trash, you stopped and said, "hey - we need to take a picture of this for our blog first". ... We miss you guys!! ...In fact we started exclusively using cloth napkins in your honor. Love you! Rachel Beachy :)
